My Life

so many passers-by in my forty years of life
do I ever longingly look upon them
a he or a she flirtatiously beckons to me
(they came to me in my dream?)

(not) so many places have I ever stayed
living a life with one or two of them
growing up together
with joy and affection
as well as sorrow and hatred (maybe)

(not) so many adventures have I ever had
(not) so much pleasure have I ever got
with enough life lessons
with (not) enough life experience

and I will go on living
with more passers-by to deal
with more places to visit
with more life lessons to learn
